Base flow

The term 'Base flow' as it applies to the area of water can be defined as 'sustained flow of a stream in the absence of direct runoff. It includes natural and human-induced streamflows. Natural base flow is sustained largely by ground-water discharges'.

The term 'Base flow' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' Ground water inflow to the river. Portion of stream discharge that is derived from natural storage'.
